This is an exciting new role within a small business where you can have a big impact directly supporting the Director.

You will be responsible for coordinating the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation, with particular responsibility for first-line staff management, operational delivery and internal coordination.

This is a development role, suited to someone ready to step up into an operational management position. You will manage day-to-day people matters, support delivery, and work closely with the Director as you learn, with guidance and support available from our internal HR consultant.

The role is office-based in rural Worcestershire. Due to location, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

  • Support planning, scheduling and prioritisation of work
  • Monitor workloads and capacity, flagging issues early
  • Maintain and improve operational processes and systems
  • Ensure work is organised, tracked and delivered consistently

First-line staff management

  • Manage holiday requests, sickness recording and basic HR administration
  • Support staff welfare and wellbeing

Service delivery

  • Support consistent delivery of work across clients or services
  • Identify risks, delays or bottlenecks and take action to address them
  • Maintain clear documentation, trackers and records
  • Promote clear communication and shared expectations

Working with the Director

  • Provide regular operational updates
  • Escalate issues requiring senior input appropriately
  • Take on increasing responsibility as confidence grows
  • Develop confidence in operational judgement and decision-making

Optional: marketing & content involvement (interest-led)

  • The Director is working on a new digital product range to complement the existing services
  • There may be opportunities to contribute to marketing strategy, planning or content creation if this is of interest
  • This is not a core requirement of the role and will be shaped around the individual’s interests and strengths

  • Confidence dealing with people and day-to-day management situations
